Candidates Forums
This committee partners with other community groups conduct candidates forums throughout the county, giving voters an opportunity to hear from and ask questions of candidates for public office. We have voter registration opportunities all year round, especially before all primary and general elections. This is an activity that reflects the League's core commitment to enable all qualified voters to take part in our democracy. ▶ Pros and Cons
Members of this committee prepare pro and con discussions on state ballot measures and present this analysis to local community groups. This involves identifying what the issue is, what the measure is trying to do, where is the money coming from. Contact the committee at prosandcons@lwvslo.org.
▶ Adopt-a-Poll
The League provides inspectors and staff for polling places on Election Day. This satisfying volunteering opportunity can involve as little as half a day and only during elections. Reach out to our Adopt-a-Poll Chair at pollworker@lwvslo.org to learn more.
