The League of Women Voters Virtual Forum on Prop 50: Learn What's on Your Special Election Ballot

San Luis Obispo, CA –  The League of Women Voters of Santa Barbara will present a virtual information forum about Prop 50, the redistricting proposal on the Nov. 4 special election ballot. The forum will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 7 at 5:30pm as a Zoom webinar. No registration is required. The forum is being co-sponsored by the League of Women Voters of San Luis Obispo County, the League of Women Voters of North Santa Barbara County, the Fund for Santa Barbara, and the Santa Barbara-Goleta Valley, Lompoc-Vandenberg, and Santa Maria branches of the American Association of University Women (AAUW).

The forum will address the origins of the proposition, what it says, what it will do, what it won’t do, what proponents and opponents say about it, and how it will affect Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties. There will also be information about the mechanics of the special election, such as when ballots will be mailed, how to return ballots, deadline for registering to vote, and other pertinent information. There will be an opportunity to ask questions through the Chat function of the webinar.

The link to the forum can be found on the League of Women Voters of Santa Barbara website: lwvsantabarbara.org and the League of Women Voters of San Luis Obispo County website: www.lwvslo.org. The presentation will be recorded and will be available for later viewing on the LWV Santa Barbara YouTube channel in both English and Spanish.
