At a
“Lunch with the League” webinar on
Monday, September 30. 2024, at
Noon, a panel of experts from the Housing Authority of SLO County, People's Self-Help Housing, and Covelop, a real estate development firm, will present
“Who Can Afford to Live in SLO County? Economic & Social Impacts of a Diverse Housing Supply”.
This webinar is the latest in a series of programs looking at the lack of affordable housing in our county. Housing affordability and economic vitality are strongly linked. Too many county families have become “cost burdened” and forced into tough decisions of where to work and live. This has destabilized business growth and restrained employee recruitment, as well as productivity and retention. Local tax revenue, resources for education, healthcare, and public safety all suffer. Housing is being built throughout SLO County, but is it the right type to support our economy? Hear how local affordable housing experts are overcoming challenges with innovation and vision for future sustainable solutions.
This Zoom event is free to the public, but registration is required. Please register
here.
Participants will be able to submit questions. Michael Foote, Director of Economic Development & Community Affairs, REACH Central Coast will moderate the discussion.
This program is part of the League’s efforts to educate and inform the public, to provide information that enables county residents to understand major public policy issues.
